We consider Barbera d’Asti a wonderful wine, because it has grown in terms of sales and popularity over time, and it has communicated the quality of this historic grape variety. Cantamessa winery has the love for this denomination in its DNA and the passion for this extraordinary protagonist of Piedmontese enology. Barbera d'Asti Superiore "Ciot" is the result of careful aging and of great selectivity in sorting the grapes, both in order to satisfy international winelovers’ request of structured and elegant wines and to convey the concept of Cru. Barbera Superiore is an important example of this bond, uniting passion and research in approaching increasingly international trends to balance with modern Italian cuisine, made of simplicity and freshness of raw materials. The scents of this Barbera are extraordinarily wide, a continuous succession of olfactory sensations that put together can be defined as rare harmony, the nose has always different and at the same time well assembled impulses, green pepper and tobacco, incense and violet, then move on to morello cherries, plums and blackberries, with one elegant vanilla in the finish. In the mouth it is sapid and determined in structure, rich in flavor and well balanced in acidity, a final mineral note of beautiful elegance. We consider this Barbera Superiore a good example of modernity, also in the
pairings with anchovy croutons and malga butter to get stuffed pasta
game or grilled tome, while remaining a good interpreter even after dinner.

His primary objectives are the production of grapes and their winemaking through methods and cultivation techniques aimed at producing wines made with responsibility, authenticity and love. The main goal of the Cantamessa winery is to satisfy the customer expressing its work with absolute transparency, in fact the pride of the land, its traditions and its fruits are for the family inexhaustible source of energy to progress and improve over time . If you wish to visit the winery and taste our products, please contact us a few days before in order to allow us to welcome you in the best possible way. It covers an area of about 20 hectares of vineyards, where, thanks to the favorable exposure and soil that gives unique hints, grow grapes from which derive wines much appreciated for their organoleptic qualities. The vines that are cultivated are both those typical of Monferrato and the international ones but the main one is definitely the Barbera, from which we obtain the Barbera d'Asti DOCG, the flagship of our winery. The grapes are vinified in the cellar, set within the family home that once was the center of social life of the entire population. The ground floor, in fact housed the elementary school while, upstairs, there was "the circul", a ballroom typical here in Piedmont and an important meeting place.
